Freshman wears flannel for a pretty in plaid look

While Jenna Sacco mainly uses magazine pages for fashion inspiration, she also cites Taylor Swift and pre-Bangerz Miley Cyrus as influences.

Forget diamonds — flannels are a girl’s best friend. They’re tough enough to last through thick and thin, they never fail to comfort you and a few good ones are all you need. Just take it from freshman Jenna Sacco, who rocks this week’s Wardrobe Wednesday with a little help from her trusty flannel.

Sacco proves that a great flannel isn’t necessarily found where you’d most expect. She got hers from the back of her dad’s closet, because let’s face it — cozy knows no gender. She paired it along with a T-shirt dress and a trendy velvet choker from H&M, finishing off her look with some black booties, some matching tights and a cream-colored scarf, for that extra bit of warmth that every Syracuse student needs.

Sacco said she mostly takes her style inspiration from the pages of magazines. However, if she had to pick, she cited Taylor Swift and pre-Bangerz Miley Cyrus as her favorite style icons. Sacco describes her style as going from “preppy to rocker to some combination.” And although she attributed her outfit to pure comfort, Sacco reminds us that even our most faithful options can be turned into something edgy and stylish.
